After suffering a hamstring injury west Ham forward Michael Antonio could be out before the New Year.
The 29-year-old underwent successful surgery on Tuesday and is expected to be out for three to four months while he recovers.
The difficulty was endured by him at Newport a week.
The Hammers, who lost Javier Hernandez once he had been offered to Sevilla month, still have tons of options.
