Alfie Hewett and Andy Lapthorne face familiar opponents in US Open final

Britain’s Alfie Hewett and Andy Lapthorne drifted into the US Open men singles finals respectively after a week of showcasing a few of their best tennis.
The pair stay on course to potentially finish a US Open dual using both featuring at the doubles finals in their branches also.
Hewett, who performed his quarter-final and semi-final in the day due to rain storms, has left it .
He began the day with a 6-3 7-6 (7-2) victory over Japan’s Shingo Kunieda and following this up with both as powerful semi-final functionality against France’s Nicolas Peifer taking only 75 minutes to emerge on top 6-3 6-4.
„I love it ,“ Hewett told Sky Sports. „The courts match my game design really well, I just feel relaxed and that I feel I can play my best tennis. It’s very great to get rewarded after all of the hard work which has gone in all year.“
The seven-time Grand Slam champion will play in his third successive US Open final and it’ll be a re-match against France’s Stephane Houdet of the first one way back into 2017.
On that occasion he ended with runners-up honours, however he is hoping this time here this season as defending champion.
