It’s hard to believe the holidays were simply several weeks that are short! I happened to be fortunate enough to spend time at home in Chicago and also saw some snow. Lots of my colleagues also traveled to other parts of California or the nation in this break for many well-deserved time with family and buddies.

When we were not enjoying the breaks, but, lots of us proceeded to read applications. Every year, they tend to change from year to year after reading over 800 applications, I’ve realized that while there are trends in applications. I’ve been impressed with students taking the effort to have international experiences in their high school years, whether it’s by going on a service journey abroad and sometimes even spending a whole semester or year studying in a country that is foreign. Another feat that is remarkable students have accomplished is starting unique businesses or organizations. Numerous students seem to be true self-starters, whether they own their own landscaping company or founding a nonprofit. We never cease to be wowed by the accomplishments of applicants before they’ve also graduated school that is high.

Even though it seems like we’ve read many applications, there are lots of more to see and i am sure a great many other styles I’ll find. In each application, I’m excited to observe the applicant reveals their individuality. Whatever your story may be, we’re looking forward to getting to learn you.
