It takes 20 years to construct a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you believe about that, you’ll do things differently. -Warren Buffet
If more firms — namely online sportsbooks and casinos — followed this advice, betting online would be much more enjoyable…and not as stressful.
I would wager that BetOnline wishes that they did. They’ve made decisions a couple of years ago that is likely cost them thousands, hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions of dollars, due to lost business from poor PR.
We’ll be sharing some examples of those with you in our inspection. Because while we wholeheartedly recommend BetOnline to our visitors — and believe that now they are a safe and legit gaming company — we think you have the right to know the entire story before deciding to play here.

WHAT DID BETONLINE DO?

First Things First: What Did BetOnline Do You?
What exactly did BetOnline do to create a lot of people mad?
We believe that a better question is this: what did not they do?
BetOnline’s poor choices spans the spectrum of unethical behaviour, which range from telling likes to withholding money to having shoddy security.
There are plenty of examples we can show you. But LegitGamblingSites.com has already done the job for us. They uncovered several instances, which you can see for yourself in their BetOnline review.
Here’s our TL;DR version:
BetOnline Told a Fib
When BetOnline first introduced their poker merchandise, they whined about what system it was around. They claimed to be on the Hero Poker Network, though they were really on the Action Poker Network. There were also stories about how they had been on the Chico Poker Network, but then were kicked off.
Afterwards reports (from BetOnline) indicated that things were fine and mended, and that BetOnline had been (and still is) about the Chico Poker Network.
Odd thing to enjoy, eh? (Though we might lie too if we had been on a shoddy network like Action.)
Everybody agrees that BetOnline lying was a stupid move and a bad way to market a new item. It doesn’t instill confidence. And it makes you wonderwhy do they lie about something so trivial in the first place?
$60,000 Confiscated for No Reason
There have already been many, MANY reports about BetOnline confiscating money from clients. The justification was nearly always because the client supposedly cheated, although no evidence was ever provided from BetOnline (from the examples we’ve read).
1 case that caught our eye was of an expert who had 60,000+ confiscated because BetOnline said he cheated. They refused to send him all his hands, but did offer to send him the hand histories that revealed him cheating (for evidence ).
He got them . What he did get was empty promises about the way they had been on the road, and the runaround when they never showed up. They eventually told him they couldn’t send him the hand histories because the files were too large.
(Anybody who understands anything regarding online poker and hand histories — let alone about downloading files into your own computer — knows what a crock this is. And, why would not you send evidence someone cheated if you do not have anything to hide?)
Eventually Sportsbook Review (SBR) got involved and helped the participant get his cash back. His final update mentions being alleviated about how it worked out for him personally but also said the exact same thing happened to his friend.
Chip Dumping $50 Means You Had BetOnline $30,000+
In this case the player didn’t anything wrong — he chip-dumped to his buddy. But here is the kicker:
He also chip-dumped to his friend at a HEADS UP table at which nobody else would be hurt. He did it his buddy could have an additional $50 to play at BetOnline.
The funny part is that they were playing from precisely the same house at the time. Most sites wouldn’t even let two individuals from the exact same IP address sit down at exactly the same table — but BetOnline did.
The individual had his account suspended (far after the fact, whereas most sites would’ve caught it much sooner), which no disputes thinks was a wrong move on BetOnline’s part. What’s however, is how they wanted to also take his 37,000 he earned because that incident.
Forum members indicated that most legit websites would not have allowed two individuals from the same IP to sit at the same table. And, if they did, the moment they guessed chip dumping had occurred, the player’s account would come under review. He would never have the chance to earn the $37,000.
However, now he did, BetOnline wanted it. But, technically, the cash should go to whomever was hurt by this player’s activities (that wasn’t any one). So it’s absurd BetOnline thinks they need to have the ability to retain it.
BetOnline Knows Your Passwords
The previous example we wish to share is a case where a BetOnline rep outed the way the employees understood their customer’s passwords and login numbers. It is possible to see the live chat log in here.
The original poster has a good point. If everybody in the company has access to your login information, what is stopping them from conducting a VPN, logging into account and taking your money?
The BetOnline rep didn’t have a good answer, only a“ha ha fine grained.“
Scary stuff. Scroll down the discussion thread and you’ll see even more examples. It’s ridiculous.
What is even more absurd is how these instances are a drop in the bucket in comparison with the sheer variety of (similar) complaints . A quick Google search for“BetOnline scams“ will also keep you occupied.
Then BetOnline Does One Funny: They Acquire SportsBetting.ag
During the same time BetOnline was struggling, SportsBetting.ag was struggling to. They were trying hard to cover their customers.
Thent a few months later a story broke — BetOnline acquired SportsBetting.ag.
The crazy part was not so much the purchase, it was the fact that BetOnline also consented to be on the hook for all the current and past payouts. Even after all their stingy-like shenanigans.
An excerpt from SBR:
Most of all, the new investment group is committed to get SportsBetting.ag winners paid in a more expedited manner.
„The new shareholders unconditionally guarantee past and future payouts from SportsBetting.ag,“ the rep said. „But since there is a large backlog of pending payouts, they need to be conducted through different fraud checks, prioritized and fulfilled. When the backlog is finished, customers will experience drastically improved payouts thanks in part to upgraded payment options, such as same day options.“
Nobody knows exactly how much BetOnline had to make in past payments. In fact, BetOnline was reportedly“shocked“ to find over $1.5 million in liabilities that wasn’t reported from the previous direction. I think it would be safe to assume that the previous debts exceeded $1.5 million — and seemingly BetOnline has paid off it.
What Does That Mean for BetOnline in 2019? What Does That Mean for You?
Frankly, we have had difficulty finding anything negative to report about BetOnline from over the past year or so.
There are some complaints; ordinary stuff all companies face that we will address later on in our review once it is logical. Nonetheless, it looks to us like the majority of BetOnline’s problems are over.
They have satisfied customers, if you can believe it.
Now, what does this mean to you? Should you forget and forgive? Are they secure enough for you to join, make a deposit and play? We’ll be honest — there is no way we would’ve played at BetOnline back in 2011-2012 if we had known or heard about any of those reports above. No one in their right mind would. You’d be safer light your money on fire.
And we also don’t want to downplay the errors they’ve made. Lying, making baseless accusations, withholding funds and insecure software isn’t to be taken lightly.
However, since buying SportsBetting.ag and adding new management to oversee operations, things have improved drastically. So much so that we’re comfortable now urging them to our readers.
And it is not just us. If you have a look at other BetOnline reviews, you’ll see similar thought processes. Typically the reviewers first condemned them for their actions (in 2011-2012) and recommended NOT playing with there, simply to get a change of heart once they saw just how much BetOnline changed.
So, here’s where we stand on the matter —
BetOnline has made mistakes and is far from an ideal sportsbook, poker room or casino. They had and continue to have their shortcomings, the most recent of which we highlight in our review under.
However, as best as we can tell, they’ve righted their wrongs and continue to improve what they currently offer to players. So we feel secure using accounts .
It is up to you to decide if you are feeling the identical way.
2019 Main Review of BetOnline
With their previous from the way, let’s jump into what’s important today — and that is what BetOnline provides concerning banking, betting options and promotions.
Deposit and Cash Out Options, Fees and Time Frames
BetOnline delivers a good choice of banking choices. However, you’ll want to remember that what’s available for you will be determined by where you live.
Let’s start with their deposit choices.
Deposit Options
Here are the payment methods BetOnline accepts and the min/max limitations for each:

The biggest complaint about deposits would be their 6 percent fees for credit and debit cards. They are one of the only websites that charge for (credit/debit card) deposits. Bovada’s among the additional kinds, charging 4.9%.
Cash Outs
When you’re ready to cash out your winnings, then you can use:

What I don’t like is the way you are going to pay a fee for every banking choice. Even bitcoin, which is usually free in most sportsbooks and casinos. But here you are going to cover a 2% commission.
Nevertheless, I have seen firsthand testimonials from clients who say they have received payments over 10 days, bank transfers over 3 days and bank wires in 2-3 days. This is quickly considering they are in the US marketplace.
BetOnline says nothing about it in their site, but I have seen reports that indicate BetOnline gives you a $50 charge every month if you put in your request on a Friday. In many cases this will not cover the entire fee, but it is better than nothing.
BetOnline’s Products: Just What Can You Bet On Play?
BetOnline is an“all in one“ company. This means that you can bet on sports, play casino and poker games.
Their longest reputation, and likely most popular solution, is their sportsbook. So let us start there.
Bet on Sports, Horses and Financials
BetOnline provides action on horses, sports and finances.
Within their sportsbook they more or less pay the most well-known sports in the US. Included in these are:
Automobile racing
Baseball
Basketball
Boxing
Cricket
Darts
Soccer Golf
Hockey
Martial arts
Rugby
Snooker
Soccer Tennis
Lacrosse
Softball
Olympics
eSports
You can also bet on futures and prop bets on these markets:
Canadian Football Cycling
Formula One
Darts
Hockey
Horses
Professional Football
College Football
Pro Baseball
Pro Basketball
College Basketball
Women’s Pro Basketball (WNBA)
Rugby
Soccer One option they’ve added recently is eSports. It’s no surprise really, given how quickly that industry is growing. Every bookmaker is jumping on the bandwagon and offering odds on each of the greatest tournaments and leagues.
BetOnline is, also, even though it looks like they’re only dipping their toe in the water to check the temperature.
I say that because — as of right now — they only have moneyline odds for one match-up / league. Compare that to Bovada who is covering 5+ matches around about 10+ leagues/tournaments.
It’s a big difference. I mean, who’d you rather go to for eSports gambling?
That being said, I think that it’s a good idea to provide BetOnline the benefit of the doubt…for now. It is possible they are still trying to find their bearings in this developing marketplace. Maybe they have plans to expand their eSports choices in the near future.
What they do have going for them is their odds on the match-up I’m comparing to Bovada. They are offering slightly better pricing for the exact same exact match.
There is no way to tell whether that’s always going to be true, nor can it matter if they never expand this part of their sportsbook.
However, it’s reason enough to keep tabs on them.
They provide live gambling too. These options change constantly, obviously, to coincide with what games or events are moving on. When I last looked they had lines for football, baseball and tennis. You can even keep tabs on a couple of games simultaneously utilizing their multi-event tab and plan for future games with their live betting calendar.
1 thing they’re known for are the higher-than-average betting limitations. These vary from $1 to $25,000. Most markets will probably max out between $1,000 to $3,000. But it only depends. It is also possible to raise your wagering levels by contacting their Player Services.
Their sportsbook additionally runs a reasonable variety of promotions, and far more than you will find in their racebook and financials segment combined. A few of the better options include:
50% Welcome Bonus — Get a 50% match on your initial deposit up to $2,500.50percent Kickoff Reload — Get a 50% reload bonus up to $1,000. Live Bet Free Play — Get a $25 free play. This is less or more insurance — create a bet and if you lose, they’ll reimburse you up to $25.
Beyond that you will see a listing of races in their page. Each record tells you the number of spacious races you’ll find, which when you click on it will expand to show you the races, horses, jockeys and odds.
If you are unfamiliar with their website or horse betting, a fantastic section to look through is that their racebook info tab in their navigation. Here you’ll find information on:
Their monitor limitations. This lets you know that the maximum you can bet per race.Payoff chances. Discover how much you will make in case your wager (s) win.Their rules and the kinds of bets you can make.Horse betting tips, FAQs and phrases (in case you don’t understand what a word or phrase means).
It is a good section if you’re new to horse gambling.
And that is about it. This section is far more compact than their sportsbook.
Nevertheless, their racebook does have a few offers also, though nowhere near the quality or quantity their sportsbook offers.
Here are some of their offers:
Track Rebate — Get a 7% rebate on your stakes daily without a min volume or caps on how much you can earn. $25 Risk Free Bet — Create a bet for the very first time from the racebook. In the event you lose BetOnline will reimburse you around $25.
Last up is their financials section. Here it is possible to bet on currencies, indices and commodities. Your betting options include touch, range, turbo and a single touch. The assets/markets you can wager on will depend on your bet kind.
This section looks like an afterthought. It certainly doesn’t get the focus or marketing BetOnline’s other segments do.
Their poker room is among the most well-known alternatives for Americans. They are a part of this Chico Poker Network, who’s 13th in total traffic rankings, but is 3rd for US poker sites. After I last checked they had about 2,100 players on their website.
In 2016 BetOnline conducted a much-needed software update. Previously they had several complaints regarding the quality of their applications. This included complaints about fuzzy graphics, bad sound and animation quality.
But following their update we have seen hints they might have some of the best software in the US marketplace.
From worst to best at 1 update? That might be pushing it. But based on the images I have seen, their applications DOES look better.
However, there are still a few areas BetOnline can improve.
At this time they have a download for PC and Macs. However, they don’t have any options for mobile players, which we believe is a no-brainer in this day and age. Additionally they only provide holdem, omaha and 7-card stud. It’d be wonderful to see more game options.
Overall, however, it is nice to see they are making improvements and are getting more aggressive with what other high tier US poker websites offer.
Speaking of that, a Number of the poker promotions or offers include:
Welcome Bonus — They will match your deposit 100% up to a maximum of $2,500. They cover out this to you 5 at one time. You’ll have 60 days to clear the offer. $50,000 GTD — They’re running a $50,000 warranty for $99. $90,000 Guaranteed — BetOnline guarantees greater than $90,000 in tournament prize pools every single weekend.
They have a few leaderboard and money race challenges, too.
And it’s not just a“bonus,“ but the games here should be milder because of the US traffic along with the crossover traffic from their sportsbook or casino. Making money from their poker tables should be easier here in contrast to other poker (only) sites.
Casino and Skill Games
Here you will find a great deal of game options which range from table games to slots to video poker and skill games. Their matches come from both Rival Gaming and BetSoft applications, each of which are famous for producing topnotch games. Here is the way their games breakdown:
9 blackjack variants.13 table games.19 regular slots plus 37 3D slots.17 video poker games.Live traders for blackjack, roulette and baccarat.
Let’s get more specific however. Following is a little sample of the casino and ability games you can play at BetOnline. Watch our casino review for a comprehensive list.

LIVE CHAT (for actual money accounts only)
1 thing to find here are the reports I have seen about how BetOnline’s support is unfriendly.
1 example came from a poker player turned site reviewer. He shared his experience, which was one of the worst I have heard ever, let alone heard about BetOnline.
Here’s an excerpt from Gaming the Odds:
Considering that BetOnline’s poker software is not high-quality, I anticipated them to shine at client services. How else can you explain the popularity of their poker room?
Turns out I was wrong, big-time. In reality, through their live chat support (and I just have to mention it in this BetOnline review), I had the worst customer service experience in my entire life so far.
After the live chat session began, I had to wait a few minutes until the customer service person bothered to answer, not only entirely ignoring my question but asking for my username and password too. Can you feel comfortable entering your password and username into some live chat box? I sure did not.
I clarified that I don’t want to input that information to a chat area and, what’s more, the question requires no such advice because it had been about BetOnline.ag generally. I had to wait for ten minutes for“help“ (I use that word loosely here), while getting“Thanks for waiting. I’ll be with you in only a minute…“ every now and then.
Nevertheless, I have also heard the opposite. A reviewer that actively plays on BetOnline says they provide excellent customer service. He also says that your very best choice is to benefit from their live chat (only available to account holders).
Their experiences are polar opposites. This implies to people that BetOnline might have inconsistencies with how they handle customer care…an
